Dennis C. Murray, PGA
Director of Instruction

Golfers from all walks of life and skill levels know Dennis Murray as "Coach." His UNCOMPLICATED GOLF philosophy has been helping golfers achieve their goals for many years. As a player, instructor, and researcher in the fields of sports psychology, motor skill learning, kinesiology, as well as additional areas of importance relative to the game of golf - Coach Murray brings a lot to the table for the benefit of his students.

Gleaning wisdom and theory from mentor and Ryder Cup Team Member Stewart "Skip" Alexander, as well as Sam Snead, Bill Melhorn, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Johnny Miller, and Tom Watson, was a blessing during Murray's competitive years. He broadened his knowledge working with Hall of Fame instructors Manuel De La Torre, Jim Flick, and Eddie Merrins. The list of notable colleagues Dennis has worked with includes Jim McLean, Hank Haney, Craig Harmon, Dr. Bob Rotella and Dr. Dick Coop.

Dennis worked with PGA Tour, Champions and Nationwide Tour Players, including the late Payne Stewart. Other players "Coach" has worked with and continues to work with include Gary Hallberg, Kevin Stadler, J.L. Lewis, Jerry Pate, Fred Funk, Dick Mast, Dan Forsman, Jonathan Kaye, Dave Stockton and Ben Crenshaw.

Other famous students include Michael Jordan, Don Zimmer, Ken Griffey, John Smoltz, Scott Hamilton, NHL's Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Musicians from Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Eagles, and CSN&Y like Richie Furay, Glenn Frey, Graham Nash, and Mr. Bo Jangles' Jerry Jeff Walker.

Murray competed on PGA Tour, was Player of the Year and recently ranked #1 Senior Player in Colorado Section PGA. "Coach" won several tournaments and holds course records that still remain with scores as low as 62.

Korey Durkee, PGA

Korey is a PGA Professional originally from Portland, Maine and has been in the golf business for over sixteen years. Korey has been teaching and competing professionally on the west coast of Florida since 1994. After spending eleven years with S&S Golf Management developing and operating new facilities in the Sarasota area, he is now an Associate Golf Professional with TROON GOLF at The Legacy Golf Club. His teaching philosophy is simple and easy to apply for golfers of all skill levels.

D.J. Coutu, PGA Apprentice

D.J. Coutu came to Florida from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He has been in the golf business for fifteen years and a staff member at The Legacy since 1999. D.J.'s teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of the short game and how golfers can improve their oncourse thought process to manage their game to lower scores. He is a fine golfer and a dedicated instructor who cares about the learning of his students.
